Which one to I do, for example: 
“The last two weeks teams continued to prepare for the September” 
1. If I just reading only once at a time – I do not understand anything. 

OR

2. The, last, two, weeks : Once then said   

“The last two weeks”, the “The last two weeks – oh yes, this it means”.    

“The last two weeks teams continued”     

“The last two weeks teams continued to prepare”   

“The last two weeks teams continued to prepare for the September”     

“The last two weeks teams continued to prepare for the September” –> even though I understand 100%, but still going something to 60% understanding ?
